Modest gains

I'm not as crazy about Modest Mouse as a lot of crits are, so I don't give a damn whether Good News For People Who Love Shiney Hooks represented a disappointing popist direction. For the curious: Johnny Marr does not add appreciably much to the proceedings. But in these days when Rolling Stone can birth three new guitar heroes with one cover story I'd like to remind listeners of the effectiveness of anonymity.
