Sexagenarian, not grammarian

The track listing for Bob Dylan's Modern Times, released in late August. I deplore his slatternly way with prepositional phrases.

Thunder on the Mountain
Spirit on the Water
Zeitgeist on the Prairie
Tempest on the Tundra
Bungle in the Jungle
Lightning on the Creek
The Wind That Shakes the Barley
Beyond the Horizon
Crash on the Levee
Ain't Talkin'

You made this up. "Bungle in the Jungle"? Really?

While some of these titles are just plain silly -- "Tempest on the Tundra?" -- I don't see anything "slatternly" about the prepositional phrases they contain. Also, the titles "The Wind That Shakes the Barley" and "Ain't Talkin'" contain no prepositional phrases at all. I'm not at all clear about the locus of your criticism, especially when it's aimed at one of the very few artists whose lyrics may accurately be described as poetry.

Are you putting us on? "Bungle in the Jungle"?? Ugh.
Sounds like it began as an concept album- and then he got bored with the concept.
Which would really fit his working pattern.
But it's Dylan, so I'll bite.

I see none of you own 1990's rather good Under the Red Sky, whose songs include "Wiggle Wiggle" and "Handy Dandy."
